Chloe Kahn
Landscape designer

Chloe joined Dirtworks after graduating with a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her background in geology has a strong influence in how she sees the world– where earth and landscape tell the story of the processes that shape it. Her work focuses on building community connection to place– strengthening ecological and cultural legibility through design. Chloe’s work responds to complex ecological systems, highlights the materiality of place, and explores artistic storytelling at different scales.

In her graduating year, Chloe received the ASLA Honor Award, the RISD Landscape Architecture Department Thesis Award, and was the recipient of the Landscape Architecture Foundation’s Steven G. King Play Environments Scholarship for playground design. Previously, she worked for the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the National Parks Service where she developed solutions to bridge the disconnect between landscape design and maintenance strategies.
