DAVID KAMP, FASLA, LF, NA
David Kamp, the founding principal of Dirtworks, PC, has over 30 years' experience in the private and public sector. Prior to forming his own firm Mr. Kamp participated in large-scale site development, including involvement in the design of Australia's New Parliament House and a variety of projects throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean.
Selected as a Loeb Fellow in Advanced Environmental Studies at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Mr. Kamp began a year of self directed research and study covering a range of factors, including ergonomics, medical ethics and research advancing the effectiveness of nature and gardens to influence health care environments. As an artist-in-residence at the MacDowell Colony, America's oldest and most prestigious artist colony, Mr. Kamp confirmed his exploration with the development of a series of prototypical gardens serving a range of individuals with special needs.
Mr. Kamp is a guest lecturer at numerous universities and conferences across the United States and Europe, and currently teaches at University of Virginia (where he is an alumnus). Mr. Kamp was a contributor on the committee that developed the Green Guide for Healthcare Version 2.0 Pilot, a best practices guide for evaluating health and sustainability for the healthcare industry. Most recently Mr. Kamp was featured in Recreating Eden, an international documentary series exploring the role of gardens in the lives of people. A second television documentary, GardenStory, will be broadcast on PBS in spring 2008 featuring engaging examples of the power of restorative gardens to support health and well-being, assuage grief and enrich the lives of patients, visitors and staff.
Most recently, Mr. Kamp has been elected as a National Academician of the National Academy, a professional artist association in America modeled on The Royal Academy of London. He joins an illustrious group of America's most influential artists and architects of the past two hundred years.
Mr. Kamp is a Fellow of the American Society for Landscape Architects, a designation conferred on individuals in recognition of exceptional work in landscape architecture over a sustained period of time.

Tannen Printz, RLA, LEED AP
Senior Associate
Tannen comes to Dirtworks from the Pacific Northwest where he received a BLA from the University of Oregon, Eugene. His experience includes design and management of corporate, residential, campus and habitat restoration projects. He is particularly skilled in managing and coordinating landscape, engineering and architectural components in large-scale projects.
Martin Harwood, LEED AP BD+C
Associate
Martin received his BLA from the University of Georgia. He has been integral in the design of numerous Dirtworks projects including university plazas, urban parks, healthcare, roof, and residential gardens. A few of his professional interests include: ecological restoration, native plants, sustainable design and the positive role urban landscapes have for their communities.
Hillary Cohen
Landscape Designer
Hillary received her BLA degree, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She comes to Dirtworks with over four years of design experience focused on commercial, municipal and institutional projects. At Dirtworks, Hillary provides thoughtful and dynamic design solutions to projects ranging from healthcare to higher education facilities.
Timothy Gazzo, LEED AP

Landscape Designer
Timothy Gazzo has been involved in the landscape industry since 1999. A 2010 National Olmsted Scholar, he has a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He also has several years of experience and special knowledge of plants in the Northeast region. His professional interests include ecological restoration initiatives combined with the principles of new urbanism. |
