This unusual garden exhibition explores the restorative powers of nature in one of the country's most prominent urban spaces. Drawing upon the context of this national landmark and the changing seasons, the garden reconnects the man-made world with the fundamental elements of nature.

Grasses were selected for their seasonal color, scale and texture to complement the surrounding buildings. Multi-stem crape myrtles frame views both intimate and grand. Together with the careful placement of planters and benches, the design turns a busy promenade in midtown Manhattan into a series of restful garden nooks offering a quiet place for conversation or reflection.

Featured in The New York Times and seen on the NBC program After Today, the exhibition's plant materials were donated to local not-for-profit organizations.
