This continuing care retirement community located in the former historic Kings College property in Briarcliff Manor serves an active elder population. Clusters of independent living apartments, assisted housing residences, and skilled nursing units provide community residents with a dynamic landscape that is able to respond to their changing needs.

The landscape is designed to support the formation of community by utilizing the rich landscape heritage of bucolic Westchester County - forests, meadows, orchards, rock outcrops, and fieldstone walls. The hilly terrain creates two distinct landscapes, each defined by a diverse native planting palette.

In the lower site, a selection of indigenous trees define each housing cluster, allowing each cluster to forge its own neighborhood identity within the larger community. In the parkland areas beyond, landscape is used to create different areas for the community and the public to explore, while maintaining the privacy of the various neighborhoods.

The uphill site is surrounded by dense woodland. A series of elegant courtyards, terraces and gardens, some intimate, some grand with expansive views, serve as gathering areas for the community. A spacious, secure garden serves the skilled nursing units. Ground floor private terraces are screened with trellises and lush plantings.
